In practice

What controlled product data looks like

Four views from the neo demo workspace: the product structure, the BOM, a released revision and its history. Click a view to see the screenshot from the product.

  1. 01

One structure for the whole product

Assemblies, mechanical parts, electronics and software sit in one tree, each with its own number and revision. Select any item to see its details, lifecycle and the documents attached to it.

  2. 02

A BOM with the data around it

Open any assembly as a BOM table: quantity, type, linked 3D models and assembly instructions, and attributes such as material, colour and supplier. Export it when production or purchasing needs it.

  3. 03

    Released means locked

When a revision is released, neo locks it together with its sub components. The lifecycle shows who created and released it and when, and older revisions in a structure are marked as not latest.

  4. 04

Every version, with who and when

The lifecycle history lists each check-out and check-in with user, timestamp and version notes, so anyone can see how an item reached its current revision.

5 out of 5 stars
I work as a buyer at Sensative and use neo every day. The biggest advantage for me is that all product data is in one place: parts, revisions, structures and documents. When I request a quote or place an order, I know I'm sending the right documentation to the supplier, and I don't have to chase drawings and files in email and folders. It's also easy to see where a component is used in our products, which helps a lot when we handle components going end-of-life or switching suppliers. The system is easy to learn, and the team behind neo is quick and responsive when you have questions. Recommended!

I've used neopdm at a client to manage CAD files, documents and change workflows, and it made my day-to-day work much easier, especially since I'm used to large, heavy PDM systems, while neopdm is fast, modern and easy to get started with. The support is also really good: quick answers and clear solutions. An excellent PDM system for companies that want to work in a more structured way.

I use neoPDM to keep files, documents and information from different clients and web projects organised. What I especially appreciate is the revision handling: being able to keep track of versions easily and always know which one is the latest. Having all information in one place and accessible wherever I work is also a big advantage. It also feels safe that the information is stored and backed up, so I don't risk losing everything if my computer breaks or gets stolen. Another important advantage for me is that neoPDM uses Swedish servers. I appreciate keeping control of my data without relying on the big American cloud platforms. The system is fast, flexible and easy to use, even outside traditional product development. A really good tool for anyone who values structure, control and security.
